After establishing and continuing to run the award winning business Blue Mountains Stargazing, they have begun this offering under the clear skies of the south coast and below share why this is a south coast experience for you to add across your next stay!

Tell us about it and why people love it so much?

We just launched in April 2023 Jervis Bay Stargazing with my fiancé Dimitri. We run stargazing tours led by an astrophysicist and Ted Talk speaker Dimitri Douchin. Our experience includes laser-guided constellation storytelling, naked-eye astronomy, binocular viewing and telescope viewing of planets, the moon, planets, star clusters and nebula (depending on the night and month).

Give us some examples of what makes your business unique?

The skies of Jervis Bay are super clear with no light pollution at all! The Milky Way is mesmerising and the moonrise in the beach is a fabulous show. We take our guests on a space journey looking at the stars on the beach with the sounds of waves, with sometimes the opportunity to see some bioluminescence (we’ve seen it once in 3 months!). Dimitri is a passionate astrophysicist but also a cultural astronomer working for Western Sydney University with local indigenous communities. We are also the owners of Blue Mountains Stargazing and proudly won the 2022 NSW tourism awards in the Tour operator category.
