Grab a cuppa and start to dream as you read.

Where is your south coast business based?

Tilba Lake House is located in stunning Central Tilba on the Far South Coast, NSW. It’s ‘pinch yourself pretty’, with green rolling hills, sunrises over Tilba Lake, vast star filled skies and commanding views of the Pacific Ocean.

Tell us about it and why people love it so much?

We ditched our hectic city life back in 2015 in favour of a more relaxed pace of living to craft a boutique accommodation experience, Tilba Lake House. We fell in love with the country life and have found our guests also love the  peaceful, private and exclusive setting.

Nestled between the mountains, lake and the sea in charming Central Tilba, we are set on eleven acres. Tilba Lake House includes lush gardens, a fruit orchard, free ranging cows, chickens and Archie the friendly farm dog.

Our guests have plenty of choice in the type of stay with 4 Tiny Houses scattered over 11 acres with Mountain, Valley, Lake & Ocean Views, OR a fully equipped Glamping Tent with commanding views of the Tilba Valley , Or from 2 generous sized self-contained guest rooms for a more traditional boutique hotel stay. We want our guests to enjoy the best things about country life like a warm cosy fire in the oceanside firepit while enjoying a sky full of stars. They can walk through meandering paths and take-in coastal country views while smelling the roses and seasonal gardens.

Give us some examples of what makes your business unique?

We think our location is truly special and very unique. Sometimes we have to snap ourselves back to reality and reflect on how lucky we were to be presented with such a place. Locals who have lived in the area all their lives are sometimes gobsmacked when they visit us, as the views and aspects are so different, but really just add to the many stunning perspectives that Tilba and the surrounding areas have to offer.

Our guests really appreciate the extra features we have on offer, like our heated mineral pool, big open spaces, cozy bench seats hidden in secret gardens, firepits with equally amazing vantage spots, generous locally produced hampers and friendly farm animals.
The awesome Tilba Lake House team have recently started curating onsite experiences as an additional option of a stay, e.g. Plush Picnic, Firepit Immersion and Panoramic Sauna

You have so many great reviews whats your secret?

You really can’t go past the personal touch and getting the little things right. Also having the right balance with guest engagement is paramount.  We work hard to make our guests feel welcome and relaxed from the moment they arrive. By engaging early in the booking journey, we get to know our guests and understand what they are looking for. Providing personalised messages on chalkboards, freshly picked flowers in vases and a sneaky bottle of bubbles goes a long way. It’s also important to check-in at the right points and follow up after their stay.

Tilba Lake House is a place where you can eat direct from the surrounding farms, stay connected to nature, surrounded by unspoilt beauty & ancient culture and be inspired to live more sustainably.

Why do you love being part of South Coast Experiences?

We believe its important to be part of a local community of like minded people. This helps to learn, improve and grow within your business and the wider community. We are always looking for fresh ideas to improve and keep relevant and South Coast Experiences gives us this in spades.

Any plans or announcements you would like to share?

We are super proud to have launched our onsite experiences and new wellness facilitates, which includes a wood fired sauna and heated mineral pool. Later this year (2024) we looking to enhance these even further, hint ‘cold but energising’ and have our eyes on a agri-tourism surprise – so watch this space.

Book into this wonderful getaway here and spoil yourself!
